We always seem to assume that our "universe" is the only physical universe. If we were able to travel to its edge with a powerful telescope, why isn't it possible that a dim light in the distance isn't another universe like our own?

Then it's possible that this star isn't even from our so-called physical universe but from an older one instead. Farfetched, but not impossible.
