The United States is fast becoming an authoritarian nation — note our Attorney General who believes in the absolute authority of the President and a President who happily agrees with him.

And yes, the authoritarians are using the Internet to attack opponents and squash democracy. Note the flood of propaganda websites and fake social media accounts.
