Philanthropy is not limited to billionaires or even millionaires.

Most philanthropy is mutually beneficial. The giver benefits in pursuing social, political and economic goals (such as well-timed tax deductions). Altruism also is a benefit. It feels good to most people who aren’t sociopaths.

The receiver often needs the money. If in doubt, just spend some time with developmentally disabled people. Philanthropy is win-win and not left-right or liberal-conservative.
