I had a senior management job that required more than 30 meetings a week. It got to the point where I would find a reason to skip any frivolous meeting that didn’t have a provable impact on achieving my most important goals for the company.

Likewise, I learned to leave meetings early if they went too long. (I tried to give a good excuse in that situation.)

Time management in those environments requires some ruthless discipline, even if it means pissing off some people.
