I can’t emphasize enough the importance of #14, at least for me. I used to be an extreme introvert who somehow moved up the management ladder during my career. My first speech was in front of 200 people. I was utterly terrified.
I practiced my speech in front of my mirror and my wife 10 times. That became my top rule for future speeches until I built enough confidence to reduce the number. Even today, after dozens of public speeches, I still practice out loud 5 times.
