Dave, I feel your pain because I have been there. Now that I’m near the end of my career, I look back and respect myself for acting on principle as much as possible and nurse old wounds when it cost me for doing so.

In your case, maybe compromising on the other guidance would only have briefly delayed an inevitable crisis on cost reduction.

So yes, principles can be expensive at times. But I suspect you agree that losing self respect also comes at a cost.
